Judge’s comments: The winning entry demonstrated several crucial elements to a strong video: a clear and succinct narrative, varied shots and a fuller story than gained by merely witnessing an event. The videographer/s achieved this by pairing general coverage with multiple interviews. Wide, medium and closeup shots kept the piece moving along, visually. Particularly nice detail of the raised fist. Lastly, the close spatial proximity to subjects provided a layer of intimacy to the work.

Re all submissions: Don’t be afraid to plant yourself in the middle of the action. And please, monitor audio levels so all clips come across at the same volume. A video is only as strong as its audio!
